Plastic Adirondack Chairs

These types of chairs are basically just decorative, and usually comfortable, lawn chairs. People buy them because, when you get a set that is really nice, they seem to actually make the entire yard look a little better and more inviting that the usual plastic lawn chairs. The style is usually very large and not something you would just fold up into your trunk and take on a picnic. This however comes with a price. The plastic are usually pretty ugly compared to wood or the homemade variety, making them less desirable and more for those days that involve only family.

Wood adirondack chairs are the nicer counterpart to the plastic type. They are also more expensive, and if you aren’t careful they won’t last as long. These chairs are more for those days when special guests are coming and you want everything perfect. If you are expecting bad weather, then wooden ones should be kept protected because they are much easier to damage than the plastic chairs are, however, on a nice day they add a wonderful aspect to the yard, often making it look better than before, and with a matching table it is a great place to dine, or just sit back and enjoy a few drinks with your company.

Finally, there are the home built adirondack chairs. These, depending on what plans you use and the skill level that you work with tools, can be either a marvelous addition to your back yard, or a complete disaster that you just want to hide or throw away. These can easily be sturdier than store bought wood Adirondack chairs; however they still won’t be able to handle the weather as well as the plastic ones can. If you plan to build your own adirondack chairs you should look online for plans. Any plans that you choose should be easy for you to understand, which means that you should read through once or twice ahead of time to make sure that you know for sure what is going on, and should include a list of the sizes of wood you will need as well as the sizes of each cut piece. It also helps if it has a list of tools, but that isn’t quite as necessary as the other two. If followed closely, these plans can give you beautiful chairs that you will want to show off to all guests.
